Monster Hunting

TL;DR

Every monster you kill counts toward your Hunting Level for that species (max level 10). Higher levels give you bonus damage, hit rate, damage reduction, and drop rate against that specific monster. Low-tier monsters (Easy & Medium) grant one stat per level in a cycle, while high-tier monsters (Elite, Boss, Rare) grant all four stats per level.

How It Works

Each tracked monster species has its own independent kill counter and hunting level. When you reach the kill threshold for your current level, you automatically level up and gain permanent bonuses against that monster type.

The bonuses you receive depend on the monster's tier:

Key Points:
  • Bonuses only apply against the specific monster type you've leveled
  • Kill counter resets to 0 on each level-up
  • Max level is 10 — bonuses are permanent per character
  • Check your progress in-game via the Monster Hunting dialog or by hovering over a monster

How bonuses work:
  • Damage — flat bonus added to your attack damage against this monster
  • Hit Rate — percentage added to your hit chance against this monster
  • Damage Reduction — percentage of incoming damage reduced when this monster attacks you
  • Drop Rate — percentage added to the primary drop chance when you kill this monster

Kill Requirements by Monster Tier

Monsters are grouped into tiers based on difficulty. Easier monsters require more kills per level (they die fast), while bosses require fewer (they're hard to kill). Requirements scale exponentially — early levels are quick, late levels take dedication.
