Every physical attack uses the same formula: (Attacker HR / Target DR) × 50, clamped 15%–99%. Your DR comes from DEX × 1.5 + gear + shield spells. Your HR comes from Weapon Skill + DEX above 50 + gear. Back attacks halve the target's DR. After a hit connects, armor, shield, and VIT further reduce damage.
The Hit Chance Formula
Both attacking and defending use the same formula. Whether you're a warrior swinging at a Liche or a Demon swinging at you — the math is identical:
Hit Chance = (Attacker's HR / Target's DR) × 50
Clamped between 15% (minimum) and 99% (maximum)
Back Attack: If the attacker is behind the target (both facing the same direction), the target's DR is halved. This doubles the effective hit chance. Always face your attacker in PvP.
Your Defense Ratio (Avoiding Hits)
Your Defense Ratio determines how often enemies miss you. Higher DR = more dodges.

What Happens When a Hit Lands
DR only determines if the attack connects. After that, damage passes through these layers:
1.VIT: absorbs random 0 to (VIT / 10 - 1) flat damage 2.Armor: random body part absorbs up to 80% (halved in PvP) 3.Shield: if Shield Mastery procs, absorbs up to 80% 4.AddAbsPD: items reduce up to 50% additional

Example: Attacker HR 180 vs your DR 240 → 37% hit chance. Hit lands with 100 raw damage. VIT 80 absorbs 4 → 96. Body armor 60% absorbs 57 → 39. Shield procs, absorbs 31 → 8 damage taken.
